SUMMARY:Free Wellbeing Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a peaceful walk through Ubley Warren Nature Reserve. Connect with new people and experience the beauty of local wildlife.\nJoin Alex\, one of our fantastic Nature and Wellbeing volunteers\, for a free Wellbeing Walk. Alex will guide you on a short walk across the Mendip Hills National Landscape starting from Charterhouse Outdoor Activity Centre (near Blagdon) and around Ubley Warren Nature Reserve. \nPlease note that you will need a reasonable level of mobility to walk across uneven ground for the duration of the walk (2.5 hrs). However\, the walk will be slow paced as you will be taking time to notice the natural world\, listen to the birdsong and feel the breeze on your skin. The walk is appropriate for people wishing to walk quietly in the presence of others and engage in mindful activities aimed at improving mental health. \nThe walk is suitable for those aged 18+. We also ask that you do not bring your dog with you. \nSpaces are limited to a maximum of 10\, so reserve your space ASAP! Please let us know if you are unable to make it so we can offer your space to someone else. If spaces are full\, please book one of the waiting list tickets and we will get in touch if a space becomes available. \nBook a space here… \nThis walk is being run as part of our Mendip Nature Connections Project\, funded by the West of England’s Healthier with Nature Programme and Defra’s Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme. \nYou can find out more about the project here. \n

What3words///pavilions.thinks.throats \nThe road closure will be in place along the B3135 from La Rocca restaurant (where ‘The Butts’ meets Cliff Road) through to the second bend in the road after Gough’s Cave (The Cliffs). Further details can be found on the Somerset Council website. \nCar parks will be open as normal either side of the road closure – in laybys above the closure\, and in public car parks below\, at the bottom of the Gorge and in the village.  Please contact the Mendip Hills AONB Service ahead of the day for advice on where to park for those with disabilities or mobility issues. \nThe project has been commissioned by Seed Sedgemoor Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme\, and is a partnership between the Mendip Hills AONB Service\, Somerset Film\, The Mendip Society\, Somerset Earth Science Centre\, and Windrose Rural Media Trust.
