Mendip Hills AONB Volunteer Ranger Open Evening (online)

Would you like to become an ambassador for the Mendip Hills and join our prestigious team of Volunteer Rangers?

This open evening will provide more detail about the role, and how to apply. It will also be an opportunity to meet current Volunteer Rangers, ask questions and learn more about the Volunteer Ranger training and induction programme.  Candidates will be invited to make an application after the open evening.

Booking for the Open Evening is essential, and ticket sales for this free event will close at 7pm on 13^th January.

Our Volunteer Rangers provide a visible presence in the Mendip Hills AONB and assist us in conserving, enhancing and promoting the appropriate use and enjoyment of the area. Volunteer Rangers inspire and inform visitors, lead guided walks, marshal events, check walking routes and are the ‘eyes and ears’ of the AONB Team.

We are seeking to recruit Volunteer Rangers to join our existing team. Candidates will be required to submit a successful application, and to commit to 7 hours of volunteering each month. Upon recruitment, candidates will undertake a one-year induction programme which will include vital and varied topics including Outdoor First Aid, navigation, flora and fauna of the Mendip Hills, countryside interpretation, and the archaeology and geology of the AONB.
