Planning, Development & Nature Recovery for Parish Councillors

We are running a series of workshops for Parish Councillors looking at how their role can help conserve and enhance the special qualities of the Mendip Hills AONB.

We will focus on:

• Planning policy specific to AONBs as nationally designated landscapes
• Understanding the AONB designation
• What conserving and enhancing ‘natural beauty’ of the AONB means
• Why the role of parish councillor is so important for the AONB
• Why enabling nature recovery is essential in tackling the ecological emergency, a key objective of the AONB Service
• The Nature Recovery Plan for the AONB and key aspects of it for each parish
